Jim Brayshaw is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience as a firefighter, fire officer, medic, and educator. His expertise spans multiple domains, including expert communication, trauma-informed communication, psychological health and safety, leadership development, and critical incident stress management. Jim Brayshaw has been instrumental in developing global corporate mental health and wellness strategies and has chaired crisis and peer support teams. As a certified trainer with the Canadian Mental Health Association’s (CMHA) Resilient Minds for Firefighters program and a Mental Health First Aid Instructor with the Mental Health Commission of Canada, Jim Brayshaw delivers motivational and psycho-educational presentations that are both impactful and informative. His dedication to health, wellness, and fostering strong relationships shines through.
To promote professional growth of the members by providing educational opportunities in current management theories and skills, and application of this knowledge to the work environment.
To educate members in new technology and techniques to promote and maintain high standards.
To establish opportunity for members to network with other SAMIM members for the purpose to share knowledge, problem solving and information gathering.
To establish liaison between SAMIM members, other healthcare agencies and government departments as required.
